For the fall season, H&M has developed a collection in partnership with the actor John Boyega. The range of clothes features bold prints and statement colours to add a playful edge to your autumn-winter wardrobe.
The ready to wear pieces range from outerwear, accessories, tops and knitwear. The collection adds a flair to the otherwise bland clothing aesthetic that H&M is known for, which is a shame because there was a time when H&M had forward fashion pieces when they had a purple trend label. Nonetheless, this collection might pique my interest and entice me back into the brand.
Here are my favourite pieces from the collection.
Double-breasted wool-mix coat – £149.99
First up is this Double-breasted wool-mix coat. In a world of camel and black overcoats, wearing a check coat can help you stand out from the crowd. This silhouette has an oversized fit and gives off a vintage style feeling.
Cotton denim jacket – £149.99
I have been having a love affair with patchwork denim all summer, so seeing this patchwork denim jacket means I can continue this obsession into the fall season. Patchwork is an excellent addition to your wardrobe as it matches with almost any of your denim washes.
Quilted grape leather puffer jacket – £229.99
I love outerwear in unique colourways, and grape is an unconventional colour that lends itself perfectly to a puffer jacket. At first glance, you might think this jacket is made from leather, but it is imitation leather made from biowaste produced from winemaking. The jacket is also versatile, with removable sleeves to form a gilet.
Ribbed wool-blend polo-neck jumper – £49.99
A winter wardrobe is not complete without a new chunky knit, and what better colour to consider than a jumper in yellow ocher. This knit comes in a raglan sleeve allowing your shoulders more space to manoeuvre.
Jacquard-weave cotton jacket – £59.99
Wearing your grandma’s curtains have never looked this good. The jacquard floral pattern can be seen on both the jacket and trousers for a co-ord look. The jacket is your typical lightweight blouson with ribbed cuff and hem detailing. For the trousers, the silhouette is slightly relaxed with an elasticated waist. Both feature a dark brown piping detail.
If wearing two matching patterns is not enough, the pattern extends to a baseball cap.
Printed cotton sweatshirt – £34.99
My favourite casual piece of the collection goes to the two-toned green printed sweatshirt. The sweat has a clean line down the middle separated two shades of green with an augmented graphic.
Wool-blend baseball jacket – £139.99
Not all autumn winter days require you to wear a thick coat. Some days are mild enough for you to get away with a lighter weight jacket. For those days, this wool baseball jacket could be for you. The wool blend gives you a good amount of warmth along with the quilted burgundy lining, which contrasts perfectly with the camel colour.
Other highlights of the collection include a green hoody, a Jacquard-weave lyocell shirt and Cable-knit wool jumper.
